Explore the 4-building complex at University Technology Park
The Technology Business Center
TBC is the modern gateway to University Technology Park. Fully renovated and reopened in 2006, this historic building is home to high-tech companies and research institutes as well as IIT’s Idea Shop, the campus hub for student innovation.
No matter where they’re located at UTP, all resident companies have access to TBC’s conference center and the light-filled, open meeting space inside the 4-story atrium. Companies can network with IIT undergrads inside The Idea Shop, a hub for student innovation on TBC’s lower level.
The Technology Business Center is a joint venture of IIT and Wexford Science + Technology. The building features 24-hour front-desk security, a backup generator and chiller and mailroom.
Opened in 2011 after an award-winning restoration of its historic Mies van der Rohe building, the UTP Incubator offers 33,000 square feet of world-class space for more than 30 high-tech startups.
Inside the Incubator are Steelcase-furnished labs and offices for lease, including:
- 6 office suites (300 to 320 square feet)
- 9 dry labs (300 to 900 square feet)
- 19 wet labs with adjacent office space (750 to 2,000 square feet)
The IIT Tower
High-tech companies in the early product and customer development stages enjoy flexible office space at the IIT Tower. This 19-story office high-rise is ideal for those who don’t need lab space but want access to all the advantages of the University Technology Park community.
